Bird-Eco-Houses

Ornithologically Designed Bird Houses and Feeders.
 Handcrafted from 100% Reclaimed Lumber.

All our bird houses are designed and built to meet the general standards of good nest boxes as set forth by the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology:

  • untreated wood (rot resistive)
  • thick walls (at least 3/4")
  • extended, sloped roof
  • rough or grooved interior walls
  • recessed floor
  • drainage holes
  • ventilation holes
  • easy access for monitoring and cleaning
  • sturdy construction
  • no outside perches

A tip:
According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, you should make sure your birdhouses are in place well before the breeding season begins.
In the south, place your birdhouses by February.
In northern regions, place your bird nests by mid to late March.
